Industrial ParkAirport Specifications

The 1,200 acres surrounding the South Lafourche Leonard Miller, Jr. Airport in Galliano, Louisiana, are slated for industrial development of aviation-related businesses as well as companies in support of oil and gas activities ongoing at Port Fourchon.

The 6,500 foot airport runway can accommodate aircraft from single-engine planes to 20-passenger business jets. Phase one of a parallel taxiway is complete and facilitates enhanced air travel in conjunction with the industries that operate from the Industrial Park. Future construction is planned to fully extend the parallel taxiway.

Businesses that have strong ties to the oil and gas industry but are not water-dependent and don't need to develop within the Port of Fourchon utilize this industrial park to establish their businesses in close proximity to the port while remaining within the hurricane flood protection levee system. The Airport Industrial Park is but a 22-mile drive or a 10-minute helicopter ride from Port Fourchon. The Commission is committed to helping lessees succeed, having created an environment that fosters development of businesses and has superior infrastructure to support commercial operations.
