FROM BATON ROUGE, take I-10 East to New Orleans; exit I-310 south to Boutte/Houma. I-310 ends at Highway 90, at which you should exit right to Highway 90 West toward Houma.
Continue on Highway 90 West toward Houma for approximately 19 miles. Then, exit Highway 308 (Exit 215B), taking a left to go south toward Grand Isle. Travel on Highway 308, passing through the towns of Mathews, Lockport (LANDMARK: Bollinger Shipyards), and Larose before approaching the Intracoastal Canal Overpass. When you descend from the overpass, take a left to continue south on Highway 308 toward Grand Isle. At the first traffic light that you encounter, take a right onto the bridge named
Le Pont D’Or near McDonald’s to get to LA 1; take a left off the bridge onto LA 1. Continue south on LA 1 until you reach the next traffic light, which marks the intersection with Hwy. 3161, the
Cote Blanche Connection (LANDMARK: Exxon Station on bayouside). Turn right onto Hwy. 3161, which connects LA 1 to LA 3235, a four-lane highway. At LA 3235, take a left and travel south toward Port Fourchon. You will pass through Cut Off, Galliano, and Golden Meadow (PLEASE OBSERVE 50 MPH SPEED LIMIT IN GOLDEN MEADOW).
If you do not have a toll tag to cross the LA 1 toll bridge at Leeville, you can stop at the GeauxPass Customer Service Center (located at 1821 Hwy. 3235 in Golden Meadow) or any of five kiosks located at businesses along the way (see kiosk map above). You can also go online to
www.geauxpass.com or call toll-free at 866-662-8987 for information on obtaining a GeauxPass account or purchasing a one-time pass. There are no toll booths at the Leeville Bridge, so please plan ahead for toll payment.
Continue traveling south as LA 3235 merges with a two-lane LA 1. In Leeville, follow the signs to the LA 1 Expressway, which is the elevated toll road and the sole land route to Port Fourchon. Turn right onto the access ramp to enter the expressway. When you exit the elevated highway, turn left to continue on old LA 1. Travel south until you reach Port Fourchon (LANDMARKS: Kajun Sportsman gas station and motel; Toupsie’s restaurant; Moran's Marina; lighted Port Fourchon sign). Take a right onto Highway 3090 to Port Fourchon. LA 3090 is the ONLY highway that intersects LA 1 south of Golden Meadow.
FROM NEW ORLEANS, take I-10 west to Baton Rouge. Take I-310 south to Boutte/Houma. You will cross the Luling Bridge and continue south on I-310 until you reach the end, at which you should exit right to Highway 90 West toward Houma.
