WEATHER UPDATE - Monday, September 5, 2011 at 10:30 a.m.

Currently there is still a minimal amount of water and debris on LA 1 in the Golden Meadow Floodgate area heading south. GLPC and LPSO are allowing only Port Tenants access south of the floodgates at this time to access damages and begin clean up.

Harbor Police and LPSO will continue to monitor the road block positioned at the Golden Meadow Floodgates and advise travelers to be careful.

Again, at this time, only Port Tenants will be allowed access south of the Floodgates.

TO PORT TENANTS:

The Port Commission understands that from the time a hurricane or tropical storm is projected to enter the gulf until facilities in the Port are operational again, daily information on weather forecasts, preparation measures, evacuations called, etc. is imperative to businesses operating within Port Fourchon.

To keep our tenants informed, the Port Commission has instituted numerous ways to get up-to-date storm-related information as it pertains to Port Fourchon.

DURING A STORM THREAT:

Our Public Information Line, which is (985) 798-5335 or toll-free 1-866-600-7803, will be updated daily with current storm-related information.

The Port Commission's Weather and Storm Info Page, which is on our home page under Quick Links, will be updated daily with current storm information.

If you have signed up to our emergency notification list, e-mails, faxes and/or text messages will be sent daily with up-to-date information.

Our Crisis Communication System will be activated, and a red banner will appear across the port website. Port tenants can check in using their RallyPoint login via computer or by phone.
