SOUTH LAFOURCHE AIRPORT (GAO)
The Greater Lafourche Port Commission acquired the South Lafourche Leonard J. Miller, Jr. Airport in 2001 and began a series of improvements that continue today.

The South Lafourche Airport provides air services in close proximity to Port Fourchon and the Gulf of Mexico. At present, the 6,500 foot runway at GAO is capable of accommodating large business jets, and the surrounding 1,200 acres of industrial park property available for lease at the airport provide an opportunity for development. With constantly enhanced airfield capabilities and navigational aid upgrades, the South Lafourche Airport is a valuable resource for the business sector and the aviation community.
Companies in the area need adequate air services in close proximity to Fourchon to transport specialized equipment in just-in-time fashion. The South Lafourche Leonard Miller, Jr. Airport continues to support existing Fourchon and Galliano clients, and with ongoing improvements is attracting new business as well.
